LUCKY LEESBURG LADY CLAIMS TALLAHASSEE--The Florida Lottery announced today that FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner Shirley A. Fowler, of Leesburg, claimed the $15 million jackpot drawn on July 15. Fowler chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for the winnings in the amount of $8,571,480.00. She purchased her winning FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket at Winn-Dixie, located at 27405 U.S. Highway 27, Suite 119 in Leesburg. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $40,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. The winning numbers were: 01 - 04 - 24 - 37 - 44 - 46 According to Fowler, she didn't check her winning ticket until six days after the drawing. "We even had a family dinner the Friday night after the drawing, and everyone was there having a great time. If I had known I was the winner, we would have had an even better time!" Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $10 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education. Fowler is the 15th FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner to purchase a winning ticket in Lake County. The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held on Saturday, July 25, at 11:15 p.m. ET with a $5 million base jackpot.
