Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is PICK 4™?
PICK 4 is the new name for the twice-daily Draw game, PLAY 4.
2. Can I play the same play styles, as I always have for PLAY 4?

3. Do the old PLAY 4 play slips still work?
Yes. The old PLAY 4 play slips will still be accepted by the terminal to purchase PICK 4 tickets.

Select four numbers each from 0 through 9, or mark the Quick Pick box to have the terminal randomly pick any or all of your numbers. Select the play type: Straight, Box, Straight/Box, 1-OFF, Combo, Front Pair, Mid Pair, or Back Pair. Select the amount you want to play: 50 cents or $1 (all Straight/Box plays and 1-OFF plays are $1; Combo plays are $2 to $24). Select the draw time: midday, evening, or both. To play the same numbers for more than one draw, simply tell the retailer how many advance draws you wish to play or select the number of draws in the Advance Play section of your playslip.
5. How much do PICK 4 tickets cost?
Tickets cost 50 cents or $1 per play.
6. Where can I purchase PICK 4 tickets?

7. When are PICK 4 drawings held?
The Florida Lottery will hold PICK 4 drawings twice daily at 1:30 p.m. ET and 7:57 p.m. ET. Tickets for each drawing may be purchased up to 10 minutes prior to the applicable drawing – 1:20 p.m. ET for the midday drawings, and 7:47 p.m. ET for the evening drawings.
8. How much can I win playing PICK 4?
You can win a top prize of $5,000 for a $1 Straight play, up to a $1,198 prize for a $1 Box play, up to a $3,099 prize for a Straight/Box play, up to a $2,500 prize for a 1-OFF play, and a $50 prize for a $1 Front Pair, Mid Pair, or Back Pair play.
9. What are the odds of winning PICK 4?
The odds of winning PICK 4 vary from 1:100 to 1:10,000 depending on which play type is selected. See How to Play & How to Win page to view odds chart.
10.What is 1-OFF®?
1-OFF® is a PICK 4 play type that offers players the chance to miss their lucky numbers by 1 and still win a cash prize! With 81 additional number combinations, the new play type gives players the chance to win $2,500 for a Straight win, or up to $100 for matching the winning PICK 4 numbers with one of their 81 possible 1-OFF number combinations.
11. How do you play 1-OFF?
Playing PICK 4 1-OFF is easy. On the PICK 4 play slip, players should mark the 1-OFF box; select the draw time: midday, evening or both; and choose one number, from 0 through 9, from each column for a total of four digits, or mark the "QP" (Quick Pick) box to let the terminal randomly pick some or all of their numbers.
12. Are the 80 additional number combinations printed on the PICK 4 1-OFF ticket?
No. the PICK 4 1-OFF ticket will print with the four-digit number selected by the player and the 1-OFF numbers higher or lower than your 4-digit number.
13. How do you win 1-OFF?
If the player's four-digit number is a Straight match to the winning PICK 4 numbers, meaning the player's numbers match the winning numbers in the exact order, the player wins $2,500. Or, if one of the player's 81 1-OFF number combinations matches the PICK 4 winning numbers, the player can win $15 to $100, depending on the odds of being off by one, two, three, or four digits.
14. How much does 1-OFF cost to play?
The 1-OFF play type costs $1 to play, but the cost of the ticket will vary depending on the number of draws played (midday, evening or both) and the number of days selected.
15. Do players get 81 more chances to win the top prize?
No. Players get 81 more chances to win the 1-OFF prize – up to $100.
16. If you select a PICK 4 number with like digits (e.g., 7-7-7-7 or 1-1-2-2) will there be fewer possible 1-OFF combinations?
No. Regardless of the PICK 4 numbers selected, there are always 81 possible 1-OFF combinations. Unlike Box or Combo, when you play 1-OFF a PICK 4 number with like digits does not change the odds of winning or the prize amount.
17. Can you play 1-OFF with any PICK 4 play type including Front Pair, Mid Pair or Back Pair?
No. 1-OFF is not an add-on feature; it is a play type that plays similar to Straight/Box.
18. Does 1-OFF play like EZmatch, do you match the 1-OFF numbers with your PICK 4 number to win instantly?
No. 1-OFF is not an instant win. Players win a 1-OFF prize by matching one of their 81 number combinations with the winning PICK 4 numbers drawn for the applicable drawing. The 1-OFF numbers are all the 81 possible winning number combinations that are off by one, from any or all of the player's number; therefore, the 1-OFF numbers and the player's numbers will never match.
19. Why should I play 1-OFF if I can only win half the prize of a Straight play?
With Straight play, players get one shot at winning $5,000 for a $1 play. With 1-OFF, they get a chance to win $2,500 and 81 more chances of winning up to $100. Players may continue to play Straight play for a chance to win $5,000; but, for the same cost, 1-OFF offers players an additional 81 sets of numbers increasing the players' chances to win a cash prize.
