THE FLORIDA LOTTERY JOINS INDUSTRY LEADERS
TO RECOGNIZE PROBLEM GAMBLING AWARENESS MONTH
TALLAHASSEE - Today, the Florida Lottery (Lottery) joins the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to recognize the 2022 Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The month of March is dedicated to raising awareness of the prevention, treatment, and recovery services available for those adversely affected by gambling.
"The Lottery is proud to join the NCPG and others in our gaming industry to stress the importance of responsible play and to increase public awareness about problem gaming," said Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis. "At the Lottery, we make it a priority to educate our players, retailers, and employees year-round on what it means to play responsibly - from playing with discretionary income to recognizing when help is needed - we believe this leads to a safer playing environment for everyone."
Lottery games are designed to be a fun, low-cost form of entertainment with the added benefit of generating additional revenue for Florida's students and schools. The Lottery encourages responsible gaming by following these tips designed to help players make informed decisions throughout their Lottery experience:
The Lottery continues to build responsible gaming best practices into all aspects of its operations. We received the highest level of responsible gaming certification from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) and NCPG in 2018; and a certification for responsible gaming from the World Lottery Association (WLA) in 2019.
